Manchester United keeps up their form in winning their third consecutive match in premiership after taking over Everton in an away match.
United were playing without Rooney and Hargreaves, both still not fit to play United.Ronaldo playing after end of his suspension and Tevez starting up instead of Saha.Yakubu making his first home and club debut with Everton. Everton playing at home(unbeaten) and losing only one in their last five fixtures were ready for a win.United knew it would be tight encounter and also losing points would be a bad deal. Everton started well with couple of good chances coming close of few occasions.United had only best chance in first half which unlikely came from Evra on a Tevez pass.Everton had a decent effort from corner, header well cleared by Paul Scholes .United suffered a blow after Silvestre in later period after collapsing on a miss time run.Silverstre substituted by Nani. Both teams managed a goalless period after no such chances coming in first half. Second half saw more composed United with all passes and through ball playing perfectly.Scholes kept his head cool late in match after being warned by referee for a late tackle against Mikel Arteta. He missed the best chance of game missing one on one opportunity hitting ball high in the air on 53 minute .United still without goals.Ronaldo was warned for falling at edge of box which looked less deliberate for a dive.May be a bad decision. The clock kept ticking and both teams trying hard for a sole goal which was to come from United. With less than 7 minutes to play United, bagged a corner on right flag.Nani taking charge for the corner. He delivered a perfect ball in the box, which was then headed for a goal by Vidic for power determined header.A goal coming on 83 minutes set the score line live for United.Once again United coming with a late old fashion header goal winning the game by one goal .Winning all 9 points from last 3 fixtures, made Sir Alex some reason to be happy about.
We are delighted with the win because people will see a very improved Everton this season. Teams will find it very hard coming here.We are determined, we have a good team ethic, we have got a good shape and we had good passing. We will work away and this is a very good result.
Not those perfect win for United but the result that mattered.Lets hope this may work well for boosting up the team and we see better performance from United.

Nicolas Anelka signs a new deal with Bolton till 2011.
Not very happy news indeed. For those who havent been following the transfer speculation, there were rumours that N Anelka was likely to join Manchester United this season due to the lack of a “Target Man”, and the inability of Louis Saha to stay fit for 2 months in a row.
Hence sir Alex was eying Nicolas to be a perfect substitute for his “damaged heros”. Apparently Ferguson missed out this time. It seems like United, more often than not, have problems signing players from within the EPL, unlike those from elsewhere. Lets just hope Bolton rot at the bottom half of the table this season :p
On a more positive note, Wazza is getting better all the time, and may recover from his Metatarsal injury sooner than expected. Furthermore, Louis Saha is all set to return to first team action this Saturday, so the striker department is starting to get settled(dont forget, Sir Alex has a certain highly talented, fully fit striker at his disposal as well).
I guess the Anelka move was just not meant to be, I never really liked him anyways. He’s ex-Arsenal too ![]()

A Manchester United legend, and one of my favourite players, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has retired due to recurring knee problems. The baby-faced assasin has become a part of United folklore after scoring the dramatic winner in the 99 UEFA champions league final in Barcelona.
In an long and illustrious career at Old Trafford, the striker, sometimes referred to as the Norwegian Alan Shearer, scored 130 goals in 360 appearances for the club. After sufferring what seemed like a career-threatening injury in 2002, he made a dramatic comeback last season, scoring 11 crucial goals and lifting the Premiership title.
He was expected to retire at the end of this season, but the recurring knee problems have kept him unfit through the pre-season, and has ultimately resulted in him hanging up his boots.
I leave you with highlights from that memorable game against Nottingham Forest, when Ole came off the bench to score 4 times!
Thank you Ole, we will miss you.
Finally, after all the hype surrounding Tevez and his transfer to United, the 23 year old Argentine is all set to play his first match as a Red Devil.
Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed about Carlos Tevez making his debut for United on wednesday against Portsmouth. Sir Alex made the announcement later this Monday saying “Carlos will start on Wednesday against Portsmouth”.
This comes as a relief to United fans, after a lack-luster performance against Reading on Sunday, in which United had to bring on John O’Shea as a makeshift striker. Wayne Rooney is suffering from a hairline crack in his leg and is out for 2 months. Sir Alex is confident that Tevez will fill up Rooney’s shoes and will perform well. He further added:
I would have preferred to wait for Manchester City-that would have given him a few more days for training. But for the forthcoming few weeks, he will fill the position Wayne would have occupied.

Wayne Rooney limping off at half-time in the match against Reading earlier today was a worrying sight for all United fans.
And those worries have been justified as just minutes ago, authorities at Old Trafford confimed that Rooney’s injury was a serious one.
He has a hairline-fracture, and it is expected to be another w months before Wazza can return to action again.
This compounds the worries of Sir Alex, who is already missing Louis Saha due to injury since March.
The stage seems to be perfectly set for Carlos Tevez now, as he seems to be the only possible answer for United’s injury woes.
Reading held Manchester United to a draw in a tight match at Old Trafford.
With more than 67% of possesion throughout the match, Manchester United clearly dominated the match, but a spirited Reading side refused to give in.
The match started without any of the newly transfered players in the starting 11. In fact Nani was the only one among the four to even have been a member of the squad.
An out of touch Rooney played upfront on his own, and was easily dealt with by the two Reading Center-Backs. A rather drab first half finished at 0-0 with Rooney limping off the pitch.
He was replaced by Nani, who showed quite a bit of flair and was among the few players who ever looked like scoring. As the second half wore on, United picked up their pace and attacked relentlessly.
During the 51st minute, after a scramble in the box, the ball fell to Patrice Evra, who managed to mis-kick the volley and with it, arguably the best chance of the match.A few minutes later, United got a free kick just outside the box - Giggs managed to scrape the outside of the right post - just missed.
United kept on pressing, and Reading had virtually no posession during the latter part of the second half. Later, in a surprising move, John O’Shea was brought on and he played upfront as a striker. He could have scored just a couple of minutes after coming on, but his shot was straight at the keeper.
Doyle was substituted by Kittson, who louned at Patrice Evra, taking out his legs and was consequently sent off by referee Rob Styles. Reading still had 10+ mins and added time to hold on with only 10 men, and United looked like they could score any minute.
In a fantastic display of defensive skills, discipline and concentration, the Reading defenders did their best and managed to keep a rampaging United team out of their goal.
During the final moments, as the 4 minutes of extra time were coming to an end too, a rash tackle outside the box managed to win United another free kick. This was going to be the Red’s last chance, and Ronaldo beat the wall and the keeper, but beat the post too by a couple of yards.
In the end Steve Copple’s defensive tactics proved to be successful as Reading held on, albeit by the skin of their teeth.
Final Score: Manchester United 0-0 Reading
Sunderland starts EPL campaign winning over Tottenham by1-0 with a injury time goal .
Sunderland wins.Well Done Keane What a way to kick off the premiership match.Sunderland’s first match in EPL starts with a winning match against Tottenham.Stadium of light was never so live and happening when the goal came by late substitute Micheal Chopra. The match as we know was going to be a quality one.Keane showed everyone that he can match the standards of his club to premiership and has got everything to prove this season. The match starting well off on Tottenham’s side with higher percentage of shots and possession.Sunderland were clumsy on the ball and this lead to many counter attacks. But this was sustained by Roy keane’s Army and showed the resilience to win the match. Sunderland are surely to say have better chances to stay in the league than the other newly promoted clubs.
“We played extremely well and i thought the better team won.It was down to the players and the desire not to settle down for Draw”said Keane.Keane also would be eager to watch manchester united playing against reading.
Our favourite Premier League kicks off today. Here are some quick sneak-previews of Saturday’s matches.
Sunderland v/s Tottenham Hotspurs:
The first match of the season, this really should be an exciting match. Sunderland, with Keano as their manager, showed great form last season and deserved to be in the premiership. Although Tottenham finished 5th in the premiership last season, Sunderland are sure to give them a run for their money today.
Bolton v/s Newcastle. Big Sam gets to play against is old club in the first game of the season. Newcastle with a revitalized squad, Micheal Owen returning and a new manager look like the favorites in this one.
Derby v/s Portsmouth. Derby, the newly promoted club don’t stand any chance of winning or evening squaring the game. They lack a premiership squad and with a very less experience in League its rather impossible to win against Pompey.Portsmouth are likely to have their first 3 points of the season. For them its not all about winning but rather scraping through the 90 mins.
Everton v/s Wigan: Everton were very active in the transfer window and some great nmew signings this summer. They were in great touch last season and ending the season in a respectable position. On the other hand, Wigan barely managed to escape relegation and Wigan need to hash out good performances in games like this if they want to finish in the top half this season.
Middlesbrough v/s Blackburn: Middlesbrough exihibited fantastic home form last season and managed to win against even the big guns at home. So playing against Blackburn at home wont seem like too much trouble for them and I expect them to win.
West Ham v/s Man City. Both clubs loading new signings and spending some hard cash has been impressive.Last season’s dramatic winners have held them to premiership. But this time no Tevez and Benayoun to save them. They need to work hard from starting and have to move up as underdogs.
AstonVilla v/s Liverpool:I hate saying this but Liverpool have better chance to win the match then Villa.Liverpool still suffer from defensive errors with no upgrades at back. The team needs to be balanced by getting more defenders than getting forwards.Aston can out very well if they try having better counterattacks.
This wraps up the matches for today. Looking forward to Mancheste United’s match tomorrow.
Carlos Tevez has finally moved to United on a two year loan move from West Ham.
The most anticipated transfer of the summer was successfully completed after plenty of
bumps and roadblocks. There had been doubt shrouding the Tevez issue regarding player rights and transfer money. The matter was finally resolved after Kia Jooraabchain paid £2million to West Ham United. Tevez is on a 2 year loan move instead of transfer(as originally planned) to United. Tevez wasnt expected arrive this soon so he wont be starting against reading on Sunday. An elated Alex Ferguson said that”Carlos surprised us. We thought he would need more training but he looks in great shape.” Tevez looked relieved now that the saga is finally over. He is likely to get his first match as a Red Devil on 19 August against rivals Manchester City.
